Here's what's realistic to grow in a small home garden, and what each one actually needs from you.

What Makes a Fruit Tree "Small-Garden Friendly"

Before choosing, it helps to know what you're screening for: a manageable mature height (generally under 3–4 metres, or a dwarf variety grafted to stay smaller), tolerance for container growing if space is tight, and a reasonable wait before it starts fruiting. 1. Lemon (Kaghzi Nimbu)

One of the most forgiving fruit trees for a small space. Lemon does well in large pots or a modest garden bed, tolerates Islamabad and Rawalpindi's climate comfortably, and typically starts producing within two to three years.
